Please note, in order to register with DEEDS online, you
must supply your Social Security Number. It is important to
know that DEEDS needs your Social Security Number in order to retrieve your PRAXIS test scores from the
Education Testing Service. These scores are not accepted via paper. Also, DEEDS will not be able to
access your current employment in the state of Delaware without your Social Security Number.
The Department of Education takes every measure to protect your Social Security Number including:
- Scrambling your Social Security Number as it travels from your computer to our computer
- NEVER displaying it on the web to anyone, anywhere, at anytime
- NEVER selling your information to anyone, anywhere, at anytime
You may choose to register with DEEDS via paper without using your Social Security Number, but please
understand, we will not be able to get your test scores from ETS. Applications for licensure/certification that
require test scores (PRAXIS I, PRAXIS II, SAT, GRE, CBEST, NTE, PARAPRO, and ACCUPlacer) cannot be processed.
Also, we will not be able to get your Delaware employment records
from the state human resources system. This prevents your school district or charter school's ability
to track your professional growth for your license. You cannot renew your license without your district's
verification of your professional growth. All users who register with DEEDS via paper face significantly longer
wait times for processing.
Once you start Step 1, you need to finish all steps to be considered fully registered. Are you ready to join the DEEDS community?
